The Concept
I am always drawn to sets with something real to say. That is why this fashion film is special to me, it’s educating its audience about Brazil's military dictatorship through the lens of fashion, drawing from the Tropicalista movement and the enduring influence of Rita Lee. The takeaway was bold, confident, and never wavered. On sets like this one, I want to know more. Sets with a strong message make me was to start talking about it, to share it, and to educate the people around me in a way that goes beneath the surface.

The Emergency Call
This set came in as an emergency call right in the climax leading up to finals week of my senior year. Though I had no time, this sets visual direction made me make time. It pulled me in immediately, and I wanted to help make the vision come to life, so I took the opportunity without hesitation. When time is that compressed, my first instinct is to find every way to cut down on set time without cutting corners. I prepared all accessories and hair details in advance, pre-making braids attached to rubber bands that could be secured over the models' ponytails in seconds. What could have taken significant time on set became nearly instant.

The Execution
That preparation made all the difference. With a severely limited window for the crew and myself, having the technical work already done meant I could stay present, stay responsive, and focus on making each look land the way the creative direction intended. Time constraints on set aren’t always obstacles, they are just another variable to calculate before you arrive.
